According to the trade magazine Home and Smart, the TecTrike from LEVCON is an ingenious vehicle that makes working life much easier for employees in logistics centres and warehouses and at the same time to increase productivity by shortening travel time. The TecTrike is a possible answer to the ever-increasing demands placed on logistics by online trading. It is quite possible that in the near future it will be found in many warehouses of major shippers.

The internet trade is booming and the ever increasing business pace causes completely new demands on storage and logistics. With its TecTrike, the Berlin-based start-up LEVCON presents an electric cargo trike that has been specially developed and adapted to the needs of industrial transport. The vehicle, which with its powerful lithium-ion battery can travel up to 50 kilometres with one charge, is designed to make work easier for pickers and warehouse specialists in particular. But the founders also see potential areas of application in production control and the maintenance of production plants.
TecTrike by LEVCON: Time saving through smart transportation
The LEVCON team around Managing Director Markus Wozniak-Mauersberger wants to use its electrically operated cargo trike to reduce the physical strain on warehouse and logistics employees and at the same time give them more time. According to the manufacturer, the use of a TecTrike could save up to two thirds of manpower – especially for pickers who have to cover long distances every day in central warehouses. In the founders’ opinion, the smart heavy load donkeys should also make fine distribution much easier. This is particularly true in areas where small items can no longer be picked by robots, but have to be picked manually.
TecTrike: LEVCON electronic transport aid at a glance
The futuristic housing of the TecTrike contains a replaceable lithium-ion battery with an output of 60 V and 1200 Wh, with which the basic version of the vehicle can reach a speed of up to 25 km/h. The maximum speed can optionally be limited to 20 or 15 km/h. With one battery charge, the trike – depending on the driving style, the ambient temperature and the load – can cover a distance of up to 50 kilometres before having to be plugged back into the power socket for “refuelling”. Logistics experts have to plan around 3.5 hours for a full charge. According to LEVCON, the battery should last up to 600 charging cycles and can be changed in just 45 seconds.
TecTrike from LEVCON: Individually configurable to requirements
In addition to the mountable seat and the rear view mirrors, which are required for road approval, the basic equipment of the TecTrike also includes a charger for the battery and a radio alarm system. Individual adjustments can be made in the configurator:
- The maximum speed can be reduced on request (15 or 20 km/h).
- For an extra charge, the device is delivered with two batteries instead of just one.
- The cover for the glove compartment can be screwed on tightly.
- The industrial basket can be equipped with an additional anti-slip mat.
- Corporate design: The personal company logo is applied once on the front and twice on the side.
- The standard gas handle can be replaced by a thumb gas control.
In addition, buyers can choose between white, yellow, black or silver for the paintwork free of charge.
TecTrike: quicker and more agile than conventional heavy-duty equipment
The TecTrik’s greatest advantage over a conventional forklift truck or a hydraulic ant is its low weight, which automatically increases manoeuvrability. Thanks to its relatively small dimensions, the vehicle can also be manoeuvred easily through narrow aisles and storage rooms. Another positive aspect is that no additional infrastructure is required for operation: The vehicle can be charged at any normal household socket. The concept of cargo transport within companies and businesses, as LEVCON presents it with the TecTrike, is in this way new to the market and should come at exactly the right time for many pickers and order pickers.
Conclusion: TecTrike – a cool speedster that makes work easier
LEVCON’s TecTrike is an ingenious vehicle to make working life much easier for employees in logistics centres and warehouses and at the same time to increase productivity by shortening travel time. The TecTrike is a possible answer to the increasing demands on logistics caused by online trading. It is quite possible that in the near future it will be found in many warehouses of major shippers.
TecTrike by LEVCON: Prices and availability of the E-Trikes
NIn addition to the basic model, the TecTrike can also be equipped with various options such as an additional rechargeable battery or speed throttling. With the help of the configurator, interested parties can put together an individual vehicle, determine the total price and, if required, send a non-binding order enquiry to LEVCON.
